Xiaomi, the Chinese multinational specializing in the development and manufacture of electronic products, has decided to change its business strategy in Spain. Its objective will now be to reduce the weight that the mobile phone has in its activity on the peninsula and the islands to 50% – around 75% – so that other products in its ecosystem gain presence, such as televisions, laptops or electric scooters.


This was assured by the new Business Development Director of Xiaomi Iberia, Álvaro Galán, within the framework of Discover Xiaomi 2022, the brand’s first European event 100% dedicated to products from its connected ecosystem, held in Paris. “We want to move from a smartphone company to an IoT company (Internet of Things),” Galán said.

For this reason, the Chinese firm has announced the launch of four new products to improve its connected ecosystem in Spain for the summer. In this way, in June they will arrive on the market Xiaomi Book S 12.4 inch Laptopthe Xiaomi Smart Band 7 smart bracelet and the 55-inch Xiaomi TV A2 Series TV, while the Xiaomi 4 Pro Electric Scooter will be soon after.

First 2-in-1 laptop

Xaomi Book S, Xiaomi’s first 2-in-1 laptop -it can be used as a computer and as a tablet-, responds to the increase in telework and today’s mobility needs of users with a versatile 12.4-inch touchscreen display with 2560 x 1600 pixel resolution, which expands on-screen information toIncreased productivity.

In terms of performance, the device has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8cx Gen 2 processor, paired with the Windows 11 operating system, to “deliver a complete productivity experience”. It also includes two 2W speakers, a 13MP rear camera and a 5MP front camera. This new device will be available from Thursday June 30 with a 48-hour ‘Early Bird’ promotion at a price of 599 euros.

Another category to which Xiaomi pays more attention is that of televisions, coinciding with a year of the World Cup which traditionally results in an increase in sales of these devices. In this area, the manufacturer is launching Xiaomi TV A2 Series, a new series of smart TVs which will arrive in Spain in three inches (43, 50 and 55) and will start from 449 euros in their introductory offer for the smaller version.

Among the specifications of these new televisions, Xiaomi highlights its 4K Ultra HD screen with Dolby Vision, its unibody metal frame and the immersive audio experience, when equipped with Dolby Audio. Connectivity is another important aspect for the brand and the televisions integrate the Google Assistant, Android TV and Chromecast, to stream directly from phones, tablets or laptops.

Finally, Xiaomi announces the arrival in Spain of its most powerful electric scooter to date. This is the Xiaomi Electric Scooter 4 Pro, featuring a 700W rated motor capable of reaching a 25 km/h top speed, as well as a capacity of 12,400 mAh, capable of covering distances of up to 45 km per charge and offering the power necessary to climb slopes of up to 20%. the biggest scooter prime of the brand will have a price of 799.99 euros.
