At the start of the year, its first breakthrough was presented and BMW wasted no time in unveiling one of the most anticipated models of the entire M saga: the BMW M3 Touring It is the most versatile of the family, with all the virtues of the model and plenty of space for luggage. In September, it will open orders and in november its production will begin, but for the moment its prices have not been revealed.
BMW transferred the concept from the sedan to the ranchera format, so its main (and practically the only) difference is that the trunk is much more capable, reaching up to the 500 liters. By folding the rear seats (40:20:40), the volume increases to the 1,510 liters.
The BMW M3 Touring is thus postulated as a vehicle designed for the family, but which does not lose an iota of its sportiness along the way. Neither aesthetically nor mechanically.
In terms of design, what was expected happened, that is, the image of the conventional BMW M3 was maintained. It is characterized by a huge double kidney grille, muscular wheel arches and bumpers, large wheels (19 inches on the front axle and 20 on the rear) and a rear with two dual tailpipes. Wherever you look, it’s clear that this is not a conventional parent.
The interior of the BMW M3 Touring
The same is true in the passenger compartment, identical to that of the M3. It has the firm’s latest technological innovations, such as the BMW Curved Display which combines the 12.3-inch dashboard and the 14.9-inch central screen. And it offers two front seat options, sport I workout as standard and some M buckets with carbon fiber as an option.
As for the engines, the M3 Tour It has a more limited offer than its sibling, since it is available neither with a manual gearbox nor with rear-wheel drive. Can only mount motor suit 3.0 biturbo 510 hp and 650 Nm with the eight-speed automatic transmission and four-wheel drive, one of the latest additions to the M3 and M4 range.
With this setting, it speeds up 0 to 100 km/h in 3.6 secondsIt reaches 200 km/h in 12.9 seconds and has a top speed of 250 km/h, although it can reach 280 km/h if the M Driver’s Package is installed.
The package is completed by sports brakes (which can optionally be carbon-ceramic), adaptive M suspension and M Servotronic steering. The German brand specifies that it sought an approach combining sportiness and comfort for long journeys.
